The City has reopened a public comment period on the 2008/2009 budget after some recommended changes were added. One notable one for Brooklyn is the addition of a full-time ecologist on Ross Island. We often hear comments about our connectivity to the river and one way to help our cause is to help promote Ross Island’s health as an ecology and a park. Go to the City’s budget website where you can find out public input times or links to leave your own opinion. The PDF posted on that page is worth poking around in. It’s your money, see how it’s spent.
While you’re at it… consider joining Friends of Ross Island in one of their events to bolster awareness of our precious part of the river.
