<description>I was able to attend the first open house held at the Portland Building today. There were many people in attendance, and I spoke with several people there from the Brooklyn Neighborhood.

I highly encourage all Brooklyn residents, property owners, and business people to attend one of the remaining two events.

Many of the design elements for this project are still being worked out. It is crucial that we speak up and get the long sought street improvements that we need.

As you will hear more about in the weeks to come, officials at the City of Portland have asked that the station at Holgate be either moved or eliminated. The Brooklyn Action Corps strongly supports the Holgate Station and firecely opposes any changes to the long held plans to have a station here. I have spoken with several business owners in this area, and they are unanimous in their support of the Holgate Station as well.

Look for additional announcements about this in the upcoming neighborhood newsletter. Also, Metro Councilor Robert Liberty will be our guest at the March General Meeting to discuss this topic in more depth.
