Brooklyn Annual Ice Cream Social in the Park @ Brooklyn Park
Sep 9 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Gather your neighbors and family and friends and join together in the Brooklyn Park.

  • Ice cream bars/cones/popsicles will again be featured for 25¢
  • Bouncer, Face Painter, Balloon Sculptor, Rock Wall .
  • Special music feature will be the return of the Yamhillbillies.
  • Raffle offering PRIZES for kids and adults.
  • The Meals on Wheels People are proud to be a Brooklyn resident and they are back with hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese burgers, chips and drinks.

Be a part of the Annual Brooklyn Ice Cream Social! We are seeking neighborhood groups, artisans, businesses and residents to set up information and/or sales booths at the Social. Booth space is free, but you will need to bring your own table.

BAC Monthly Board Meeting @ Thelma Skelton Meals on Wheels Center

The Brooklyn Action Corps board meets on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss ongoing projects and conduct the business of the BAC. The public is welcome to these meetings. To join the board, just come to a meeting and let us know you’re interested.

Jump in with us as we explore the future of recreation opportunities and natural resources in the South Reach.

So. We’ve held a Visioning Workshop and had lovely evening walks along the river with some of you. And we’ve been attending your neighborhood meetings and looking at the responses to the online questionnaire.

Now it’s time to wade into the details of the key challenges and opportunities. River Plan / South Reach project staff will host a series of public meetings to cover a variety of topics; then we’ll integrate the input received into eastside and westside discussions and culminate this phase of work with a public open house in December.

The results of all that will shape development of the River Plan / South Reach. So, jump in! First: Topical meetings Below is a list of scheduled topical meetings for interested community members to help define the future of the river/riverfront area. Staff will record suggestions, comments and other outcomes of these discussions. Materials for each meeting will be posted in advance on the project web page. BAC September General Meeting – Our Diesel Pollution Problem @ Thelma Skelton Meals on Wheels Dining Hall

Our September BAC General Meeting will focus on how diesel particulate pollution impacts air quality in Portland and the Brooklyn  Neighborhood in general. We’d really like to see a lot of neighbors at this meeting to show support for improving the situation. See you there!
