at BCG–SE Franklin & McLoughlin

Seed Starting Especially for Kids
10 a.m. to Noon
Recommended ages 4 to 10 (approx.)
Seeds, soil, pots and instruction will be provided.
PLEASE RSVP via email with the number participants.

Seed Starting for Everyone
10 a.m. to Noon
Bring the *seeds you would like to start (and some to share).
Bring **seed starting soil (see below for details).
Labels and some pots will be available.
PLEASE RSVP via email with the number of participants.

*Be prepared to germinate the seeds you start indoors in a sunny window.

Garden Work Session

All Plot Holders are strongly encouraged to attend.
Projects: pathway weeding & chip spreading, arbor installation, etc.

Rain or shine. Dress for the weather. Bring garden gloves.

Do you like to bake?  Donations of refreshments and baked goods are welcome!

Additional information about starting seeds:
*Recommended seeds for starting indoors in March: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chard, chives, green onions, leeks, lettuce/ greens, peppers, parsley, sorrel, tomatoes.
*Recommended seeds for starting outdoors in March: arugula/ lettuce greens, asparagus, fava beans, chard, garlic (cloves), onion sets, parsley, peas, potatoes, radish, shallots, spinach, turnip. NOTE: depending on soil temperature, seeds planted directly into the garden may need a row cover to germinate.

**Seed starting soil is a sterile mix specifically for starting seeds. Regular potting soil is NOT recommended.
