Officials from TriMet and the City of Portland announced on April 22nd that the Portland to Milwaukie Light Rail project will include a station near SE Holgate Boulevard. Planners had looked into eliminating this station, but were met with fierce opposition to this idea by local residents and business owners.
More work will be done over the next month to refine the station location and design. One option is to place a single station platform on the north side of the SE 17th Avenue and Holgate intersection. Another option is to place a single platform one block south of Holgate, at the intersection of SE Pardee Street. Neighborhood residents seem to be evenly split at this point as to which station location would work the best.
